The name

Kalstheno

/kælˈsθɛnoʊ/noun

1.

Beautiful strength.

Strength built with your own body, rep by rep, from a first pull-up to the front lever.

καλόςkalósbeautiful
σθένοςsthénosstrength

From Greek. The same roots as calisthenics.

Strength starts at your level.

Push, pull, squat, hold. Every movement has its own starting point. A quick assessment finds yours, then builds a plan that helps you progress in each one.

Stuck on the same skill for months?

Usually a step is missing. Each of the 12 skill trees maps every step from your first hold to the final move, and the next one opens when you pass the one you're on.

  1. How many reps? It tells you.

Every set has a target for your level. Log the reps or hold time and how hard it felt.

  2. Stop counting seconds in your head.

Holds and rests time themselves, on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island too.

  3. Know it's working.

Every workout ends with what improved and what moves up next time.

  4. Proof you earned it.

Pass a skill's test and its pin is yours to keep.

Too easy, you stall. Too hard, you burn out.

Kalstheno reads every set you log. Hit your targets and it moves you forward: more reps, a harder variation, less assistance. Struggle, and it eases off.

Not sure a rep counts?

Every step-up test says what clean looks like. A hold counts when it's clean, not just long.

I can't do a push-up yet. Is it for me?

Yes. Your assessment sets a separate level for each movement, so your plan starts where you are, even before your first push-up.

Do I need a gym?

No. Kalstheno builds your plan around the equipment you have, at home, at the park or in a gym. Some skills need a bar, rings or parallettes, and the app tells you which.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Everything works on iPhone. With a watch you can follow the workout, log sets and run timers from your wrist.

Is a subscription required?

Yes. After onboarding and your plan reveal, a Kalstheno Pro subscription is required to train. Plans and local prices are shown in the app before you buy. Read the subscription terms.

What does Apple Health sync?

With your permission, Kalstheno saves completed workouts and the body weight you log to Apple Health, and reads body weight from it. You can turn the connection off at any time. See how Health data is handled.
